It is now Tuesday. Things seemed to be looking up. We got our power back yesterday at 4:45 a.m. I appreciated being woken up by the TV and the lights that early in the morning. I stopped by Kroger yesterday to get cleaning supplies and was going to go back later in the day to do the grocery shopping (we lost all of our food that was in the fridge) but they didn’t have anything that required refrigeration. Went back today and they were just beginning to stock the shelves. I was able to score milk, butter, eggs, cheese and frozen seafood. I was happy with my purchases.
Now for the downside. I am writing this from home because the Chamber still doesn’t have any power. And I am sitting in a house that smells horrid – my dog got sprayed by a skunk at 5:45 a.m. this morning. I looked up the best solution for getting the smell off the dog and found a good recipe using hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and Dawn dishwashing detergent. She was only in the house 30 seconds before we caught her and sent her back outside, but the house smells ten times worse than she does. Yuck!
So while wallowing in my self-pity, I came across an email from Larry with a link to a story about the Colorado Wild Fires. It is a picture diary, really. You should check it out. It makes me appreciate my stinky home. Things could be so much worse than they are.
Thanks for sharing, Larry.
