Weekend Recap

Arrived back in town last night around midnight from a weekend at the Monsters of Hip-Hop Dance Convention that my daughter attended.  It was located about 30 minutes outside of D.C., so I really couldn’t do any sightseeing while there.

So, what did I do while my daughter was in dance class all day?

1. Shopping

2. Learned to play a new game on iPad – Spider solitaire (totally addicting)

3. Downloaded another new app on iPad called Words with Friends

As you can see, my weekend was filled with top-quality laziness.  And playing those games for hours on end can really make a girl hungry.  So when my hands started to cramp up, I ate. And ate. And ate.

And I wonder why I felt like a slug yesterday on the bus ride home.  Thank goodness these weekend trips are annual.

Today has been much better though.  I had the day off due to President’s Day and am so thankful for that.  I did laundry most of the day and am in the process of cooking my family a delicious meal:  fresh fruit salad, mini-wedge salads and chicken and cheese crescent rolls.  Yum yum yum.

I also cleaned up the house from being gone for the weekend, so I am feeling pretty good right now.  Anytime I can cook a good meal without feeling rushed, I am happy.

And the benefit of getting caught up at home is that I am ready to have a great, productive day at work tomorrow.  Bring it.

On The Road

Taking off for the weekend with my oldest daughter. She is attending a dance convention in D. C. and I’m tagging along for fun.  They do offer a  free class for “Parents”- no thanks.

We are taking a bus there with the dance studio. That should be interesting.

I’ll send along some pics for fun.  Have a great weekend friends!

Becoming A Spy

I get my best material for this blog from my kids.

Tonight Jayme shared her writing project with me.  They had to write a How-To paper.  Here is Jayme’s:

I Spy With My Little Eye!

If you like knowing what your older siblings are doing all the time, then follow me and spy on your family.  This is for beginners, so I won’t be so hard on you.

Materials

  • 1 piece of paper
  • 1 clipboard
  • 1 pencil
  • A tiny purse
  • binoculars
  • dark clothing

Step 1 – First you need to get any dark clothes like black pants and a dark blue shirt and put them on so you will blend in.

Step 2 – Get a clipboard and put a piece of paper on it and get a pencil.  Then draw the room that you will be spying in, then draw your plan and your hiding spot.

Step 3 – Get a tiny purse and get the binoculars out and put them in the purse.

Step 4 – Sneak in the room you’re spying in and go in your hiding spot when the person you are spying on isn’t in the room.  Then wait until the person that you are spying on comes in.

Step 5 – Get your binoculars out of the purse and watch the person for a little while and then sneak out while the person you are spying on isn’t in the room.  Then run out and say, “Mission Complete!” successfully.

Jayme has used this manual before – It works. Trust me.  Just ask her sisters :) .
